- I just preordered the game and it did take the money from my account already. Just checked my online statement and shows the funds came out like 2 minutes ago.
- The ‘incentive’ on preorders favor the company and not the consumer. They build up excitement with the preorder but what you don’t realize is that all of those preorders are actually applied to their ‘release date’ sales which bump up how much the company supposedly made upon its initial release. Like when Taylor Swift included a ‘free’ copy of her then new album with a concert ticket purchase when in reality the price was included with the ticket and the numbers were applied to the album sales on its release.
- XxAirixX7 years agoSeasoned AceI got it cheaper from CDkeys (though the price now is slowly going up). A good sale for something that I been waiting is a good enough incentive for me.
- The only reason The Sims 3 had preorder bonuses was due to the Store I believe? I'm glad The Sims 4 has almost no exclusive content, I hate exclusivity.
- aniles067 years agoRising VeteranI mean you don’t get it sooner in the sense of like the day before release but you do get access to it at midnight. So for those who don’t live in communities with 24 hour stores where they could pick it up in person at midnight or for those who would normally have to wait until after work/school for a chance to pick up their copy at the store, pre-ordering a digital download saves them from that and allows them to download at midnight. (Or it’ll auto download if that’s available so it’ll be there when they wake up, etc.) It’s not as fun as extra content but it’s a convenience that I’m sure is worth it for some.
- There is never an incentive.

I preordered on the 11th of June and the money has already came out of my account (same day) so they do not hold it until the release date. "mngrrl35;c-16547075" wrote:

They didn't this time, but for past EP's they did, at least for me.- bshag4lv7 years agoSeasoned AceIt means a lot to me to be able to dl at midnight. I now live on the east coast where we are 3 hrs ahead of EA and I would have to wait until 1 PM to buy, but with this ep the first preorder I've ever done for Sims 4 (used to do it all the time with the physical copy.) And I'm so hyped for Seasons, that much sooner I can get my hands on that ep. :D I spent most of my adult life working night shift so midnight is just the s.hank of the evening for me. o:)
Edit for EA censor is set too high. - The pre-order I am used to is MMO (SWTOR) and when you pre-order a new expansion (which we haven't had to pay for in 3 or so years, thank goodness for that) we get an early access of a week but this is different I am guessing but not sure as I have to wait anyways. The only catch on the MMO pre-order is you have to be a sub to get the early access.
