Secret Handshake - Alien genetics or tradition?

Wow.
I always thought all alien+human babies are hybrids, pure alien babies only come from abductions.
Hybrids can use alien-specific communication interactions (like Secret Handshake), but not alien powers (like Analyze Personality).
Carl's Guide states the same.
You mean one of the three babies was actually listed as alien?

Gosh, now you've got me thinking that maybe they weren't. The skin and eyes were all alien, but it was so long ago I can't remember if they actually had the disguise option or not. I've only ever had aliens a couple of times in game and so I'm definitely not an expert with them.

So even if they weren't a full alien (neither were the other siblings), does this still mean that alien communication actions can all be passed down through the generations? As I mentioned, they can all perform the secret handshake with other members of the family and there hasn't been an alien in the family for a long time.

I have a family whose founder was the human daughter of alien/human parents
She and all her descendants can do the secret handshake but in all other respects are human. It can't say if it's genetic or tradition.

I have had non aliens have the secret handshake. I'm pretty sure it's a sibling thing. They might have to have full relationship though or at least very high.

Secret Handshake is sibling exclusive interaction, not occult specific. it can also be performed to cousin I believe.

Aliens can do it with other aliens they are not related to.
