Seeing Spouses of Sims without Using Ask if Single?

It will also tell you if they're seeing someone like a BF or GF

When I would start chatting with another, I can scroll to the top where it shows who she is talking to, and it shows that they have a spouse. It has been like that for a while for me. Even if I know and see that they have a spouse, it will still let me ask if they are single. So not sure why you can't ask them.

So in conclusion, do you guys think it's something willingly set or a bug?

After testing it with an engaged Sim, I realized that the interaction is not useless at all. Her fiancé did not show up in her infromation panel as her spouse. And I thought my Sim could get a notification saying " has learnt that is engaged to ."
She answered my Sim's question in a notification, she said "I'm seeing someone."
Same probably goes for Sims who have a boyfriend or girlfriend but I didn't test it.

I know EXACTLY what you are talking about! In the "traits" panel of the other Sims you meet - it will say "spouse" at the bottom! It does kinda make the "Ask if single" useless.

I was able to get Eliza Pancakes - please don't ask - to fall head over heels in love with my Sim, despite being married to Bob!

I did a couple of others - sorry, I'm not home near my computer at the moment. However, if you wondering I didn't try Bella Goth - dunno why.

I was trying with male and female Sims targeting same and opposite gender Sims - though it appeared to make no difference.

The "ask if single" is totally useless and my guess would be is that if the player was (too lazy - I guess) to look at the traits panel.

I knew a sim was married because it shows in their info panel but your sim doesn't. Once one of my sims was dating Bjorn. His wife Clara came to the bar and kissed his cheek. My sim went into a rage and slapped his face because he was married.She didn't have the jealous trait. I forgot to make her ask the question because I knew the answer. They don't react to spouses this way if you ask the question first.
