- throw a house party, invite a bunch of acquaintances and make it a goal to reach friend status with one or two of them during the event
- if your sim has nothing to do, pop them on the computer to socialise with an acquaintance or friend
- a personal favourite - if your sim uses the xanadu sunset flavour on the bubble blower they have the chance of getting a happy moodlet that boosts their friend-making ability by either a bit (Very Voluble, Happy +1 for 3 hours) or a lot (Loquacious, Happy +3 for 4 hours). these moodlets give an extra boost on friendly introduction and the green bar goes up quicker. it's really handy
- for help with romance, you could give your commercial lots the romantic aura lot trait
