Seller's Tables

I tried to look up an answer but so far not finding it in regards to the game itself. Some are suggesting our Sims can set up a Seller's Table on their home lot. I was wondering if they have to be in HoB, or will Sims show up in other worlds to make said purchases?

Please, and thank you, in advance.

  • The seller's tables made its first appearance with City Living and does work in every neighbourhood.

I actually think you can, but I never tested it. I assume starting the sale will attract a few visiting NPCs or neighbors even, but your business will probably be more busy on community ground. My sim will normally go to the common area, or travel to a community lot of some sorts. The advantage of setting it up at home would be more control over the arrangement, and also adding more objects.

Hmmm... now I'll have to try this...

Edit: It is indeed possible to have a sale on your residential lot, and at 6 AM 3 customers showed up in the middle of nowhere (Old New Henford) :open_mouth: It's also a great way to chit chat with your neighbors - half my sim's customers this morning were hood locals.

You know I have CL, but I've never once used a Seller's Table. :open_mouth:
  • The seller's table was actually broken for quite some time. Sims would come and stare at the goods for ages without buying anything. But they fixed it a while ago and it has been quite enjoyable ever since.

Just note that you shouldn't do it during the City Living festivals as it does not work during those.

Thanks. In my Ancestral game save both of the families had Trading Posts, which the eldest son continued once on his own. I tried having them own their own business once Get to Work came out, but retail isn't at all what it was in Sims2 or 3. I thought, once somebody else mentioned it, this would be a good way for them to sell their wares, be it produce, or other items. I'm very much intrigued by it. Thanks!
  • I've used it yesterday on my sim's home lot twice and once at H on B festival. Works great. Lots of people show up. Besure to stock table, tend table, then start sale or street sale.

    Thank you for the tip!
  • Its also a good idea to lock the doors on your sims house when having a sale on your home lot...otherwise the customers will go into the house and start cooking or go on the computer instead of buying something.

Oh, my! That brings to mind that one year I was having a 'garage sale' on my front lawn. I hadn't yet 'opened' as I still had some boxes to sort through, yet there were shoppers right there going through the unopened boxes. I just smiled and said, "we're not quite open, yet. Please give us a few more minutes." I'm not sure if they ever cam back, but oh, well. I wasn't willing to sell everything in those boxes without knowing just what was in them, you know? Thanks for the sage advice!
