You can have an owner for an Art Gallery venue lot? :o :o :o :o :o :o
I didn't know that! If so, that's friggy awesome!!! B)
Not really an art gallery, but an art shop. Paintings can be admired no matter where they are displayed and not all paintings need to be for sale anyway.
So basically a retail venue that sells paintings?
Yes.
Cool.
I suppose you could do this with any crafted items then. I should open up a Knife-Block & Horse Sculpture Mart retail store. :D
Seriously though, sounds fun, I'll have to try a crafted item only retail store. I did sell paintings that way among other stuff, but they were the ones you buy in build mode.
So technically the item could not be restocked then? Would have to keep checking and putting up new stuff.
I have the "Live-in" mod, Retail Store is one you can do. So having the equipment for crafting whatever right there and living in the store could be interesting and fun. Kind-of an 'old-fashion' personal store rather than a corporate empire franchise. Hmm...
Paintings can be restocked like BB objects can. So, I guess books and other crafted stuff can, too. On retail stores that is. In my gallery that is in the kasbah center, paintings can be bought only once, and afterwards that piece of wall is empty. Cool to see when an exhibition is nearly sold out. So, like others mentioned, it's good to include a few relevant items that are not set for sale.
Although retail can be restocked, it's more fun to add new stuff every now and then though. With the gallery I only replace nce a simyear, with a little event for the cultural elite o course. It adds to my game play, but I don't need to do it if I rather want to play elsewhere.
Yeah, having a masterpiece painting able to be restocked is a bit lame. I agree with you for fun game-play. Selling the unique items then actually making new stuff would make more sense and feel 'fulfilling'.
Even more fun it would be if we could later find in their inventory what they had bought. It would not feel like unique stuff was made in vain. Maybe masterpieces could remain as unique items and copies could be sold as prints or copies but at much reduced price.
