Sentiments and Lifestyles on already created Sims?

Basically, do you need to create new Sims to get that, like new traits? Because in that case I'd hold off on the pack until I am ready to start a new game (bored wit this save).

Also, if the devs actually put this BASE GAME FUNCTIONALITY behind the paywall of an expansion pack it's a super greedy move.

nah, I think its going to be a feature similar to how "hobby enthusiasm" was an extra thing to our sims in Sims 2, not actually an overhaul of what we have in the game already.
  • I read it as the lifestyles come from the sims' activities and habits, so how you play your sim determines which lifestyle they get categorized into. So if it is acquired through gameplay I don't see why our existing sims couldn't work their way into a certain category starting at the moment we install the pack. I could be wrong, but that's what I thought they meant.

I'm just curious what they will be. My instinct is to think like Karon says, that it will be similar to favored hobby in Sims 2, but determined by what we have them do the most rather than randomly. Like a sim who upgrades appliances a lot will be a Tinker type, or something. That would be great for me, but people who give their sims more autonomy than I do will find a lot of their sims assigned to whatever lifestyle video games and trolling the forums falls under.

    Haha true :D
  • I'm just wondering what the "UNLOCK new personality and relationship effects" means. It almost sounds like you will have to "do something" in order for these effects to appear.

Could be a similar mechanic to the celebrity system in which they pick up different quirks based on their actions

I was thinking taking shoes off might just be triggered by placing a specific object in the build.

I hope it's like that. Because then I would be very interested in going back in and rotating through my world of sims and making them who they were intended to be when they were born in CAS.

I'm interested in seeing what these 16 types are.

Maybe! I hope so! Something like parenhood or fame that can affect game play but it doesn't really have to would be ideal!

Hm, that's a good point! If it really needs to be unlocked, it might be restricted to SE activities, sort of? I hope they just mean "Unlock by installing this pack" ;)
