Sept 18 Patch and Exciting Base Game Update

The freebies look fab and I love, love new recolours.

Is anyone getting any drastic bugs from this update yet? I'm too scared to do it...

One other thing I found hilarious...this was listed as one of the things fixed in the base game: 

• Investigating missing Doodlepip splines. Reticulation progressing. (what's a doodlepip?) 🤣

I’ve updated my game and played for a bit with no issues so far. I haven’t had a look at the new swatches but then I don’t spend hours in BB so probably wouldn’t know what was new and what wasn’t 😀I’m intrigued by the event that’s starting next week. At least it looks like it requires some gameplay, not just the act of logging in like last time. That might actually be quite fun.

Dang dee dang, I’m most excited about the Grim Reaper event items….i love it all, I want it all, but I dislike limited events. Conundrum! Oh well, my pride and principles can zippit at once and take a back seat for a change -  who doesn’t want a good old fashioned casket in the basement?! Does this one work with Vampires aye wonders? As in, can one sleep in it? I need answers. The dead Cowplant bicycle…genius. It’ll be my new Dead Pet Bicyclette. 💀🖤

As for the 600+ swatches and terrain paints…zero complaints. Very welcome in my colorful game, in which most of my sims are either dead or cursed. Did you know that black is in fact all colours? Meaning that if you were to throw all the colourful new couches into the cupcake machine  it will poop out one little black couch cake. Yummy. 

I might slip into my bold and brave pants this weekend and update my game as long as there are no game breaking issues. Paws crossed ‘n’ all that!  🐾

I'm always happy to see performance updates. The Sims 4 has needed an update like this for the longest time. It has been incredibly frustrating watching the Sims team churn out DLC like it's nothing, whilst taking forever to address game breaking issues and other bugs. If they keep this up, who knows, the Sims 4 might just be on the path to redemption.

I'm also enjoying the new swatches too, those are always a welcome thing. That being said, with all the latest information about the future of the franchise and specifically, "enhancing" the Sims 4, then I think it's time for them to bite the bullet and figure out a way to give us a colour wheel. I can live without patterns and textures, but it's somewhat ridiculous that we're in 2024, and they're still not entertaining such a highly requested feature. The swatches don't have to go anywhere, but being able to toggle between them and a colour wheel would be nice.

And, yes! I'm so glad that event rewards are now going to be tied to our accounts! This should have been a thing from the start, because I don't want to lose the rewards from the previous event. It's possible to still obtain them, but they won't appear in the catalogue or CAS as far as I can tell. I hope that they'll be able to do a similar update for the Happy at Home Login Event.

I just updated my game, and it seems to be running better now. I'm not sure why I had issues before because I'm playing on an expensive high-end desktop PC and have no problems with other games. I also had to update my Gshade since it wasn't working after the patch, so you might need to do the same.
