I am so sick of this at this point. I take the time to makeover and give all my Sims good outfits. Then whenever I see them around town they are wearing pink pants a green top and a dumb hat... Why? They have set outfits. Let them wear what WE set for them. I mean of all the problems people have had with this game this is the first that is making me not want to play!

One of the gurus has said that they're working on it, so hopefully it will be fixed soon.

Would you rather they were in the exact same thing?

@"Inna Minnit" If you read his comment, you'd see that he was talking about his non-played sims showing up in the city wearing the tourist outfit. He's complaining about that, not about how newly generated townies are dressed.@jasonpogo I also hate when my non-played sims show up at festivals in the bananas festival fashion Maxis seems to have decided on. They have party outfits, let them wear that! And the fact that I can't make my own wedding outfit for my sims, because Maxis insists on changing their clothes to the preset wedding attire - that we can't alter.

If I'm being honest, the accessories are WAY out of control too. I know sometimes some people make questionable fashion choices but do they have to make same mistake all at the same time? I'm still trying to get over the bushy beard trend that seems to be plaguing my game. Along with the horrible hats. Just say no to top hats. Some sims can only be saved with the delete button.

Seriously Devs stop putting sims in random outfits!

I just plopped my friend's Simself that I made into Windenburg. The fact that this is a thing, quite frankly alarms me. I most definitely do not want to be scarred for life by seeing her in a ridiculous outfit.

I feel the same way, they have the pre-set out fits. Why can't the generated townies be restricted to only picking a pre-set outfit?

When it comes to townies, I'd rather they be randomly assigned an outfit from a selection of preset outfits that actually make sense. Random components all put together isn't working.
