Seriously Devs stop putting sims in random outfits!

I am so sick of this at this point. I take the time to makeover and give all my Sims good outfits. Then whenever I see them around town they are wearing pink pants a green top and a dumb hat... Why...

Oh, thank goodness! I was afraid that I was starting to lose my mind; I'd gone to all of this effort to create sims with outfits I deemed appropriate, and then they were showing up in things I'd never even seen, let alone selected for them. I could probably accept it if it weren't for the top hats that 50% of them seem to be wearing. :s
