I had a lot of fun with mine. I also didn't try to bust through it fast.
I decided to make two sims opposite enough to give myself a reason to believe they had a falling out over their differences. Lulu is creative, a bookworm and neat, and Ruben is self assured, a bro and active. Neither had bad traits so I thought of them as generally nice people.. just not in line with each other.
At first I had them interact to see how that would be and even with forced friendly socials they wouldn't get along. It was sad to watch. It was actually impressive to me how even though I play with autonomy off on the played sim they really wanted to go at each other.
Then I separated them and had them focus on making money to buy what they needed to pursue what they wanted to do in life. She wanted to be a writer and had the corresponding aspiration so a computer was needed and Ruben went into the military and was following the bodybuilder aspiration. He needed exercise equipment for both the military and his aspiration. They also needed a separate somewhat comfortable bed as soon as possible. As I played them out during the week I got to like them more and more. I guess because what they could be thinking in a situation like this was also running through my mind.
The story I had in my head is that they would both pursue wellness also and end up bonding over that. Although what happened was they didn't get that far in that respect other than they both started to pursue it separately. The season premier ended up happening so I thought what if these two really wanted to watch it and had to be in the same room. They started to talk at that point.. without the bad buffs of animosity. They were still fully red but were in good moods. So I worked on them stripping out the red. Eventually, the next day I think(?) they got flirty, and well you know how that goes. Wellness is something they pursue together now although I can't help but think Ruben is doing it more to get along at this point. I'm sure he'll enjoy it more later when I make him "like" it too or it pops up and asks me if he does.
