I know how you feel, I did the same thing with the recipes to get the experimental food collection. I spent all the time preparing the meals, putting them in the fridge to stay fresh and then placing them on tables to save to a room, only noticing just the tables transferred. So I started experimenting, the only way I could save them was to save it as a lot. So I placed the lot I saved with the food on tables, put all the plates in my sims inventory and then placed my lot with a house from there I placed the plates from her inventory into the fridge on the house lot. Not sure if it still works that way, I will test it quickly since I have that lot in my gallery and get back to you again ;) brb
