Sharks?

Where did you go for the turtle hatching event? It’s just below the shipwreck lot (Incase you didn’t know ?).

Re the turtle hatching: My sims live on Mua Pel'am. And yes, I've checked all the beaches constantly after the message and nothing.

And I just removed all my mods, brought up an old save and played with a townie. Had her in the water for nearly 3 days. She had fin fear several times but I never saw any sharks or fins. And she didn't get eaten either, lol. The latter being good, because I don't want any of my sims to be eaten, but I kinda would like to see sharks.

Yup - several times - had several sims pulled under and die from shark attacks (only ones I wanted to!). Grim just comes up out of the ocean after and you get an urn on the life saver - cute!. The best place is of the island kalaksed said - though I usually use close to the scuba diving buoy there. Sharks probably will not bother your sims if actually diving - it is best to just do a 'swim here' and let them just idle in the deep water for awhile (it's those legs just dangling that attract!) - helps to have other sims they can talk to while just idling - sometimes a rip current pulls a sim and that is pretty cool too - nothing happens other than their position changes but they get like scared from it.

I have seen some many times. Especially when my sims were swimming around Mua Pel'am island.
One thing I have seen is that sims who have Child of Ocean trait will become happy after a shark encounter. I haven't seen any shark attacks.
I think SimGurus have said that you won't see any sharks in Ohan'ali Town.

This is so weird. I have to try again with all my CC removed and then check half by half which one affects this. Ugh.
Because yeah, I did everything you said, and I never saw any sharks.

One way I can suggest is having 8 sims in the same household swim around in the same area of the ocean. It will increase chances of someone seeing a shark, someone getting caught in RIP-current and so on. There is also a really rare chance of getting pulled underwater by a black mass (though I've never seen that happen without mermaids).

I could try again with multiple Sims, yeah.
I tried just now with one. Removed ALL CC previously, had him in the water for nearly 48 hours. He got the fin fear moodlet multiple times, but I never saw anything. I tried various spots - deep water, semi-deep, shallow - made no difference.
I also repaired my game but still nothing. I'm disappointed.

It didn't happen after my sim encountered one with that moodlet. And I didn't see any sharks nearby before sim got pulled underwater. Most of these sims did have that moodlet though...
Those attacks (judging from the thought bubble it may be either shark or kraken) did happen more at nighttime.

@MidnightAura See my post above. I bet it has to do with your graphics settings. You can only see sharks on "high" object detail. EA knows about this now and it went on their bug list, so I expect they'll fix it with the next patch.

I doubt it? Both our PCs play on ultra. I see a Fin that is all.
