@GirafHuntr He almost never gets depicted as a merman, and if I did turn him into one, I would probably go with an appearance that is darker in nature. Merfolk can be very dark. And that would be something different because all my merfolk are very colorful in appearance, like reef fish,.. Alexander might be more like a deep sea fish.

I can see Ember brewing a potion that makes him immortal, and as an added bonus, he would get a bit of magic too.
