Isn't the point that in Europe, the Americas, Australasia and much of South East Asia (where there game is mostly sold) polygamy is illegal hence the need for a mature rating.

If such issues are not relevant then why do we have juice and not alcohol, why do we not see more explicit sexual activity? Or more extreme violence?
It's not about "illegal", it's Teen rated. In Germany it's 6 years old, the game must stay child friendly.
Actually. the game rating systems are based on the laws of each country. Different ratings for different countries because each country have different laws regrading the sale, advertising and the depiction of individuals consuming alcohol. In the US it illegal in some states to buy alcohol before the age of 21. In the UK it is 18, thus it can't be shown in the teen rated game. So EA get around the problem it by calling it juice. Alcohol of course is not the only factor involved in a rating, but its a good example of one.
