Ok... lets be reasonable. What teen is going to want to go to school 5 days a week, every week, all year round, without a single week off? I'm talking... no holidays whatsoever. I mean like... ever (see what I did there... the channeling Taylor Swift thing... like ever? errrr nevermind)Maybe its because I have the season's pack that i'm thinking the game should at least allow for summer holidays for kids in school... or.... maybe its just me wanting a less scheduled gameplay experience for teens/kids. I don't know whats sparking my frustration but this idea of teens/kids constantly going to school without ever having time off just seems a bit crazy to me.Do you people have a way of working this out that I haven't thought of? Or maybe you don't care, and are wondering why i'm being picky? lol. I'm rolling the dice here and thinking there's at least 1 person who wants time off school for at least one of their sim kids......... help lol.

They have holidays (ex. Winterfest) off. They also have vacation days that they can use, so they shouldn't be going 5 days a week, all year round. But an entire week off is probably way too much time off on default game settings because a Sim is only a teen for 2 weeks.

Saying that a teen is only a teen for 2 weeks is presumptuous. I don't age my sims up, and prefer to have my household members remain as created. This leaves me with a teen part of my sim family for duration of family gameplay.... which would include multiple seasons.

Pretty sure there is no limit to how many holidays you can put in a row. So you could make a whole summer off with them. But the "day off from work and school" toggle also affects adults with jobs. Like I said, the vacation idea didn't even cross my mind. Right there staring at me and I still overlooked it. lol. That should work fairly well.Had I thought of that I could have saved myself a whole posted thread lol.Thanks for the replies.

I have aging off and have 3 "boarding school" homes each with 4 teens living in them so it's an exclusive teen environment. I added a mod to give them shorter school hours so they get out at 1 not 3 and that they can have freelance jobs. They do gain vacation days which I use for a spring break and send half to Sulani for a 4 day weekend and half to Selvadorada the next weekend. This has improved my teen game play a lot. They have clubs, prom and home coming events, ping pong, basketball, they attend soccer games at Ubrite on Saturday evenings from time to time (not as students). They volunteer together and many other things. I really enjoy teens now whereas before I aged them up as soon as they were an A student. Now I'm in no rush and there's plenty to do. I have teens that don't live in these 3 homes which adds some fun. Once they age up, I move the next teen or teens in. In essence they're no longer boring.

@muzickmage, If you have seasons, you could make a summer vacation. I have summer vacation for my sims, and it works quite well, as long as they have enough vacation days. If you play with mods and have MCCC, you can cheat the vacation days.

My guess is it would work similarly to active jobs. A pop-up each morning asking if you want to follow the sim to school.

By the time parents have teen kids, they should be quite high in their careers, so you could attend school with kids on their rabbithole workdays and spend time with the parents on their days off. With parents in active careers, you could alternate who you follow to work/school, etc.

WFH/freelance careers can be done outside of school hours. Maybe parents can be brought to school lots to use the facilities too?

Weekends will be days off for kids and holidays will likely be days off for everyone, as long as that option is checked when created.

I'll have to wait till I create another save with a teen again, thought I had one already but no. The idea about using vacation days seems to be the best idea. I'll have to play around with that to see how it works out.

There's a lot of gameplay for teens, I prefer having them around for awhile. I just don't agree that a teen is always in school.

Isn't it possible for 17 year-olds to graduate high school? What's the average age these days? Maybe young adults in the sims start at 18. I don't know.
