You would think they could do it with the new room system. The gameplay is so much better when you can actually see whats on the walls and the division between rooms, but playing with the walls up or with the current cutaway system doesn't have the same effect. I would like something in between.
I miss how a room used to feel like a room, but people don't talk about it anymore.
Yes, I actually prefer the cut away wall style in the TS1. I decorated all walls and never play with the walls down so it's a little disappointing over the years I can't see what I placed near or on an inside wall anymore since the end of the TS1. Why waste time decorating all walls etc. if we can't see them anymore (as the Sim goes by) other than for a screen shot etc., with all walls up. Immersion is the name of the game with me. lol
I will add I assume this is a designer choice in the other games because of performance issues. If those walls in a 3D game would be popping up and down like they do in the old 2D game then I would assume people would complain about performance.
