Sims 4 = Migraine

I loved Sims 2, but Sims 4 is a migraine to deal with, always lagging, and having bugs all the time. They literally do nothing with the game. I'm so annoyed, yet I still play it. I have nothing else to do, but my god I'm getting a head ache from how annoying this game is. I'm about to shout some forbidden words myself.
  • I'm in a similar boat... Absolutely loved ts2 and eventually ts3, but I've heard so much bad about ts4 that I've put off really jumping into the gameplay for literally years. I'm really hoping my experience is not as migraine-inducing, or I might just go back to tried-and-true Sims 3. ?
  • 4 has actually edged out 2 for me as my favorite - though 2 will always hold that special place. Then again, I only have a few bugs, so it sounds like I'm having a far more enjoyable experience than you are!

This is a sign that perhaps you should seriously try and find something else to do with your time if it means anything to you, especially when a piece of entertainment gives you these kind of severe headaches...

I don't mean any disrespect as I don't know your situation, but I'm sure there are many other things you can do instead of playing Sims 4?

If you insist on playing Sims and loved the Sims 2, why not try and go back to it?

Mods helped me in this case, it's much easier to play the game if I can use mods to get rid of things that I find annoying.

Try playing other households as well, some households makes me irritated sometimes, so I play mostly households that I enjoy playing with.

I'm not sure what you can do about the lag, I get lag sometimes on my computer as well and I have a gaming desktop PC. It feels like the game performance is not very great sometimes.
  • For the sake of my own sanity, I usually only fired up sims 4 once in a week the latest few patches introduced autonomy bugs that is very apparent for me as I usually never had a bug that really bothered me.

I really love sims 3 and have played it since 2011 and am still having a blast. if yours is sims 2 then go play it.

honestly agreed. sometimes a game is just not made for us, and that is okay there's tons of other things to do, or you could also stick to ts2. not bashing you either op perhaps you still play for your reasons but if it's really annoying you it's better to give yourself a break and find something else to do.
  • sorry to say this but for me as a player i now find the sims2 and sims3 outdated so i stick to the sims4

Sometimes you have to take a step back from the game when it gets like that. At least, and hopefully, when things get worked out. I've had to take several breaks from the sims 4 as well as other games at times because I either get burnt out or get annoyed with something. There was a time I waited till the next patch to see if the annoyance was fixed and luckily it was. I say play some sims 2 if that's still an option until the next patch to see if some of the things you find annoying clear up.

Fortunately I still have TS2 thanks to a still running XP machine and being able to get UC way back when for my Win 10 machine. TS4 is only a now and then, so the problem is minimal. For the OP, agree with the comments to find something else you like better. A variety of interests makes for more options when something gets stale or bothersome.

I wish I had something else to do, but I'm not talented at all. If I could paint or draw I would.
