Sims 4 & Nostalgia

Anyone use Sims 4 as an outlet for nostalgia. Like rebuilding their childhood homes and favorite pets growing up? Please share stories and /or screenshots. I'm know there will be a lot of lemon stand gameplay with childhood memories coming up with the new pack.

Incomplete but I started a while ago building the house I grew up in, in the Spicy District. And this is my favorite childhood dog, Grant. I have to get a better photo of him.

  • It depends on the building. Very many are incredibly old so are original Gothic. My uneducated guide is that if it looks like its been there since the earth cooled: a. it's part of the University, b. it's Gothic or earlier. If it doesn't look quite that old: a. probably part of the university, b. neo-gothic or victorian in a form very close to gothic. The Saxon Tower, not part of the University, pre-dates William the Conqueror. The University itself has been teaching since at least 1096.

Whoa, since 1096?!! That's amazing. You're so lucky to have irl experience with the building. From what I have seen it's absolutely stunning, and my eye can not stop panning around from the detail to review. That kind of building is priceless.

I hope the medieval castle kit does the build era justice. if it does, it will be the best pack ever. There is a lot of of cc for this type of build. Unfortunately not enough and some my laptop can not handle.

I would love to see screenshots of these builds you have been working on. @Oldeseadogge
  • I also built, (one of my first builds) the family home we have, my father built, on a tropical island,(his original home). It fits on the first 30x30 lot in Selvadorada as a perfect match. The real house sits on top of a hill, and of course I can take the 64x64 lot and do that, but it was just a pain to go up they by foot, we always drove in. And slopes are not great for the Sims. Maybe I will make the hill version, if I can master the landscaping tools.

I haven't been to this house since I was a little kid, but building it, it was as if I was walking through it again. This is the exact size and layout. three bedrooms and two baths not photographed because I embellished the for maximun sims game play. When I was little we only had a little tv there, because we didnt live there, only visited, but my sims like a big screen tv.

  • I haven't tried building my childhood home in the game yet, but have put my family as it was when I was a child in the game, it is special to me as both my mother and father have passed away. I also include pets that have passed to occasionally.

@Sara1010P Yes at first I was scared or opposed to adding real life people in my game, but it too allows me to revisit memories I had with some who passed away. I also added holidays like parents day and grandparents day to the calendar and I take my in game parents out and give them gift. It helps some kind of therapy if you can't in real life.
