In a way I very much agree. I don't play kids, physical activities and I dislike reality elimination/competitions shows in real life.
But I can see the fun in building a custom playground set as a builder, and I know a lot of people have been asking for many of these items even if I don't think it be that fun XD
I think that carnival, petting zoo and casinos would have more exciting activities. Since I really enjoyed items from the Sims 3 carnival and casino packs. Hopefully we get this stuff eventually too.

I personally think this is a generic "dramatization only" disclaimer like on most commercials. But of course it could mean they used cheats or a program to stage the trailer to look more smooth, and flowing than actual game play.

HollownessDevour Thank you! 😀 I had not thought of that -disclaimer! That's a step in the direction I want to go!

Yeah. I hope they don't strip Gibbi Point of any culture or flavor, just to make it a generic spa getaway that could be anywhere in the world.

I'm actually really looking forward to the pack, customizable venues with activities set by time (it seems) is something I've always wanted. However, I hope it won't make the Business&Hobbies small business system obsolete. I also hope it will work well from the customer side as well as the owner side.
There is one thing I hope the sims team will NOT do with this pack, and it's adding more popups for the new "Formative Moments" features for the children they mentioned in the blog post. PLEASE, we already have way too much of them 😪

Not to burst any bubble, but my impression is that these venues do not have a specific owner, like the Small Businesses require. This is why I look forward to it all, I might even replace some of my larger parks with venues. It depends on whether the activity venues can be visited from the map or only by scheduling a stay via phone, though.
The new career allows us to play a camp leader sort of, but I don't think that will allow for the sim to actually live on the resort, but more like visiting it as an active career.
Early days though, we'll learn more in a few days :)

Schedule ? Hmmm ... my worst nightmare !
Like High School Years or Dine Out, time goes too fast, the sims take ages to do one task. It already takes hours to go from point A to point B.
As long as there will be no option to slow down the clock , I won't be able to enjoy this gameplay.
NoahLGP the trailer showed that you could make the day as full or as chill as you want. So just a few daily activities or a full schedule.

That schedule looks quite doable. They just need to have breakfast, go outside and be back for dinner and some get together afterwards. I find it funny they allowed for three hours for both breakfast and dinner. 😁😂

I'm loving everything but very disappointed Jellyfish Junction doesn't have a lot that reaches the water. Especially given the description.
