I know they didn't say they'd do them again. But I don't think redoing older concepts and charging us again is the best way to go about things. This and other packs already feel like redoes of older concepts. And it stinks, especially because we know they CAN revitalize older packs without charging us for it. It might not be as profitable for them, but it was very player-friendly and didn't leave us stuck with multiple systems for essentially the same thing.
I guess it's harder with The Sims 4, since so many elements came underdeveloped, so refreshes are a necessity for so many things.

My negative take on this pack is that it's horrible this community makes threads like this before we literally have any meaningful information whatsoever.
We literally...know...nothing. How can you be upset about information that doesn't even exist?
Get this, guys- if content "makes sense for" an earlier pack, that doesn't mean the devs have wronged you by not putting it there. They do not have time machines, they cannot go back in time and put them there- and you know what? If the budget for Outdoor Retreat had the time and money for Archery? It would've been there! If the budget for Island Living had time and money for extra boat types? They would've been there!
The idea that we "Had island living, therefore we can never have any boats ever again, even boats that make 390587239047238975% more sense for all the boat-ready areas in the game we've gotten since then" is so silly. We can never haev ANY boats but island-themed fishing boats? Ever? That makes no sense, that's so wild. I LOVE that we get extra takes on concepts like this, because we sure didn't with the first 3 games. You got one of anything ever and you had to like it or get over it (except vampires which were so bad they put them in two packs). - Horrorgirl622 days agoSeasoned Ace
People have a right voice the concerns and feedback.People can be positive and people negative. These threads are not new or final judgment of the specific pack.
@simgirl10 makes the positives.
I make the negative ones

I guess we disagree than.Becsuse I am fine with them new takes on themes they did before .I glad we have more variety and it was not like we have the same things evan if they are similar. Also lot of the features are to big refreshes.
Cottage living vs Horse Ranch. Why I think Cottage living was better it was full enough. It was base on a uk version of the country and Cottage vibe. Why Horse Ranch was base on western version.
Parenthood and Growing together is family gameplay but they do different aspects. Why should we have one pack on family play?
For Rent vs City living this to me is a stretch.City living was living in a city and For Rent was about rentals. They both had apartments, but one is about being a landlord.
Buisiness and Hobbise vs Get to work.I feel like this was never going to be refresh. The only similarity is both had a retail system. When Buisiness and Hobbise that was not the only buisiness you can make and was way more than that.

I too believe they are more leaning towards concerns—even if they are hot takes. Opinions and concerns can easily change once we get the trailer, and once the pack is released.
I find both the positive and negative threads very fulfilling community conversations—even at the early stages. As it brings insights, I don't even think of considering, until reading another's point of view.
I personally like or want to reserve judgement, but I also want to be apart of the community conversation. So I try to pull positives even when pointing out concerns and negatives, and I also try to equally post in both the positive and negative threads, in attempts to be balanced and fair.

The issue I'm seeing is how much is getting reused and that is enforced by this game never ending and larger concepts never being developed.
This pack is going to expand vacations? We have explored the concept of going on a vacation in tons of packs, even if this pack will probably have more features like the rumored feature that we are going to be able to customize our own vacation this is asking a lot for long-time players who keep investing into this game for features that never feel complete.
Instead of developing features that many people feel are missing from The Sims 4, we are just exploring familiar concepts over and over and over and over again.
I mean sure, The Sims 4 is going to be the best vacation simulator ever, but people who wanted bands and cars are left to rabbit holes and things that have not been developed since 2014.

Forming opinions on things you do not have full context on is not "feedback". I cannot tell you that your roast tastes bad and made me sick when all the information I have is that you told me that you are making it, and using a stove.

To be fair they still do give us long request like faries we got this year. With all the car surveys, were getting them some how.We dont know when? Bands are probably coming soon too.

I'm fine with them tackling similar-ish things now and then. You can still build on different elements of a subject without feeling like a retread. Like Cottage Living. Despite being about animals, the animals themselves, how the pack plays, the stuff around it, and the theme are very different from Cats & Dogs. You could find a way to combine them, but the packs are very distinct.
Same with Parenthood vs GroT: one is about being a parent, while the other is about fleshing out family dynamics and giving stuff to all life stages. You could combine the packs and make a seamless experience, but they're tackling very different things and in different ways. They're very distinct things under the general "family" umbrella. Though as an aside, I feel like Parenthood itself is horribly outdated and also needs a refresh.
My problem is when it feels like things were designed to replace older elements, or are not distinct enough for them to be a leading feature. Or there's things that are doing what other packs did, along with other stuff, so it makes those older packs feel obsolete. IE: Small businesses are basically the retail system, except actually functional. Most of the flaws or limitations they have compared to retail are completely arbitrary and seem to exist either because of oversights, or to make retail still look viable. We already have mods that less us get the biggest perks of a retail store in a small business, which shows that the distinctions between them aren't necessary and could easily be changed. It's a very similar system replacing another system that's underdeveloped and needed to be redone. The rest of the packs' elements are distinct from one another, but the main selling point of Businesses & No Hobbies completely overshadows one of Get to Work's main selling points.
And also what Logi said. Like I'm sure Adventure Awaits will expand on the gameplay and provide a couple of new things. I'm sure it will be a superior experience to OR. But I'd rather tackle a new theme, instead of getting getting an expansion on elements we've already seen before. It doesn't help that nearly all of OR's main features are now basegame or in Enchanted by Nature.
But yeah, agree to disagree. Though for me, I won't be surprised if AA pretty much replaces OR.

If you actually read the post,It says criticisms and concerns. People can criticize and voice their concerns. Just like in the positive thread, people voice their compliments.Which also had fans voice their opinions without playing it. They can base thier reactions on the teaser. Also why are you upset with this thread? Versions of this thread have been made before with other packs.
