I play both, but differently. In Sims 3 the game very much guides my game play with the wishes and opportunities. In Sims 4 I need to have a much more organized plan of things I want to do.
In terms of personalities, mods that balance out emotions, relationships, and autonomy in Sims 4 make Sims 4 sims much better than Sims 3 sims in my opinion. But without mods Sims from both games I don’t consider to be anything special compared to Sims 2 sims. Sims 2 sims are unmatched.
