Some things that have worked for me:
Having a better CPU (not a fun solution I know, but I think this is a solution that the team will never mention). Make sure that multiple sims don't use the same object. I also use mods that gets rid of idle animations. Like the environment update animations, Eco Lifestyle NAP's, etc. I don't know why the team keeps adding them.
