Maybe, EA fixed the 10 year old problem. I kept reading online to avoid getting Sims 3 Seasons, Pets & Into the Future because of the old lagging problem. However, I read that back in 2019.
I have no idea but i think that it has to do with the pc specs. I myself had said several times here in the forum that 3 lagged a lot and so on... but i have to admit that with a good gaming laptop it does work really smooth. And i have all eps, all sps and a few store items installed and working at once...
I have always had a gaming laptop/desktop. I own all of TS3 and 95% of the store with everything installed. Never experienced lag. I don't have it in sims 4 either.
But it really does matter what kind of processor and video card you have. If you're playing on a computer designed for simple things like browsing the web and streaming a movie, maybe doing homework and sending emails...well, it's not going to be able to handle running a game with 87 extra add-ons. 1 or 2 add-ons, maybe, but with each extra pack, the minimum requirements raises and now it's just a stuttering mess because your processor is not designed to handle it. I know gaming computers are expensive, but they're designed specifically for gaming. They won't suffer from lag or it will be a lot less than with a pc with lower specs. If you have the means, it is really worth the investment.
