I have to agree. Having a choice of only Scouting or Drama club as afterschool activities is rather restrictive. What if a Sim is interested in neither? What about something like ballet or a sports club? Or maybe a kids' science/coding club, or chess.
And elders are even more ignored. Sims 3 Generations gave them walking sticks and the ability to show off about their grandkids, and that was it. They could do stuff like bingo, bridge/other card games, have their grandkids over for a day/night, that kind of thing.
