I like how the sims look on both of the games. In sims 3 the faces are a little plain and dead. What they were going for in sims 4 is great, I love the cartoon style. The clothes and the furniture and the outside all need to be sharper in detail. They look fine, but the details are blurred. That is not good graphics.
The exaggerated motions are trying to match with the cartoon, but I wouldn't mind them being toned out a bit or having way more emotions and motions to match up with the sim. After awhile all my sims are seeming just like the same one but with different skins painted over the frame. It was not like this for me in sims 3.
Love what they were going for. Hate how it turned out in some regards. You can clearly see the pixels on the face and the eyes and that is in a bad way. Sharper details but good style. I wish they would do a graphics overhaul just to sharpen the details, but something tells me that is too hard and too expensive.
Could you post an example of the 'plain and dead' phenomenon, because I never understand what people mean by that, I really don't."GaiaPuma;13381694" wrote:"LaAbby;13378323" wrote:"bobyo2001;13378298" wrote:"LaAbby;13378294" wrote:
What does pudding face mean? Does it mean fat face?
Yes."phoebebebe13;13378304" wrote:"LaAbby;13378294" wrote:

NPC sims that all look the same.
Well I don't see it ... Maybe I need to buy new glasses.
That is what they mean prob:

This sim is supposed to have a "thinner" or narrow face (jaw line etc) but she still has the pudding face/bloated/like she is wearing a mask etc

Some quote of other people in gamefaqs : "Body is slim, head look like a balloon. =( "

But you don't have to create them like that do you?
Sorry but without custom sliders whiche I never downloaded, my sims in Sims3 ALWAYS hda big bloated heads. Unless you made their bodies chubby. I am not talking about beauty/ugly. But pratically all nice sims you guys posted here had big heads when compared to their bodies. And YOU CANNOT create them different in that aspect. I pushed the narrow and face sliders to the lowest and still big head or looking "pudding". That is the point.
I'm really starting to doubt my own judgement here, but how is his head big or pudding?
I think he's proportionally correct and he doesn't have puffy cheeks.
It strikes me by the way you mention This sim is supposed to have a "thinner" or narrow face (jaw line etc), showing a pudding face genie.
I don't know, but I want him in my game. I have a daughter who's about to age up and I think they'd make gorgeous pudding babies.
Edit: And to the person who says they're being "objective," that word does not mean what you think it means. Your opinion on aesthetics can never be objective. It certainly is how you view it, and you're entitled to your views. But given that I and probably many others 100% disagree with your opinion on it and think he is perfectly proportional, well, obviously, objectivity isn't playing into it.
Well, if you read before I said I am not commenting on BEAUTY or aesthetics. Rather about the HUMAN (not aliens) body proportion.
You can study Leonardo da Vinci's golden ratio usage or anatomy to understand what I am trying to say.
P.S.: I am not saying Sims 4 sims are better or Sims 2, etc. I am just analyzing the reason why people call them Pudding Faced. Don't understand why you and some people that are attached to Sims in Sims 3 can't be logical or have a cold headed discussion about it, without getting defensive about it.
