I am curious to see if they add hierarchy and court people and if they give them any powers. Just making them rich and with no powers doesn't seem interesting gameplay. Maybe they can bestow careers like Knights or Sea Admiral or something, preferably active type careers.

  • This is a bit late in coming and should have come out at the same time as we got the castles building items.

Royals in our UK have hardly any power at all as Parliament took their power away from the time of Charles II on. Just figureheads allowed to keep their estates but dependent on a Civil List to pay family, servants etc. (The late Queen had to pay for the fire damage at Windsor herself). Others in Europe... Monaco, Denmark & Norway, Sweden. (Bernadotte founder of Sweden's dynasty was one of Napoleon's Marshals).   Thailand's and Japan's Bhutan’s  are revered and are strict on family, so are  Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, and the UAE. Dictators are the Emperors in this world now.                                                                                                                                                                                     I'd just use your imagination and build your imaginary castle and hierarchy as you will. It's your world after all!

  • Concerned that it is too modern royalty based (I have zero interest in that). I am an era and fantasy player. But if it leaves wiggle room to mock era base it, I might be able to work with that.

When has the Sims been known for accuracy? Cow Plants anyone? 😀

Plus history classes, tv shows, books.  Plenty of inspiration.

Keep in mind that royalty doesn't necessarily mean medieval. There are modern royals today in some countries, and with all of the in-game tech, I imagine the devs probably went with something reflecting current royals, at least in part. The use of the word "legacy" could mean they've covered various eras, but then, that's possibly too ambitious.

I personally would have preferred a medieval pack that covered peasantry all the way up to royals. I feel like we have so much luxury B/B and CAS already, that we can pretty much cover modern royalty easily. So I'll be interested in what the gameplay has to offer, more than anything.

Now, a Dear Leader/El Comandante type of government might be fun gameplay if possible. 😁🤣

Well, I don't know much about how vampires actually live, but I loved playing with the vamp pack although my set up might have been a little BIT off ;)

Seriously, the pack title includes "legacy", so I would expect some good non royal content, too.

  • I live in the US, so I don't know what it's like to live under the King's ruling... (maybe an Emperor or Dictator in your country), so my Sims stories would be WAY off, as far as accuracy goes!

So this would be a pass.

  • A few years ago thesimsresource did a Medieval theme collection.  I set up Windenburg with lots and all sorts of CAS and Build/Buy items.  Played it for a while and then lost interest. Really cannot justify buying this pack when I can get these items for free and use my own imagination to create a story line.
