In the Sims 2, I had a male sim that did not like any of the women I tried to set him up with, from teen through adulthood. So finally, I was like, okay I get it--you're gay. So then I had him chat up this really plain sim woman and do as few interactions as possible to get her to like him enough to marry him. Their marriage was more practical and not very romantic, and they had one daughter that they doted on.
I set up a gay bar for him, using the male restroom door so that only guys could get in. (I had this huge line of angry women out front that were trying to get in but couldn't, LOL.) He was kind of in denial, so he didn't even realize it was a gay bar at first; he just knew he really liked the vibe there. There was this one townie that was at the bar every night, kind of a rico suave type. I had him woo my sim. They had their first kiss, and that's when my sim realized he was gay.
Meanwhile, back at home, my sim would always sleep in the guest bedroom because, he said, his back was bothering him. Really, he just didn't want to sleep with his wife. She was a little bit dense, so she never caught on. I never finished the story, but this could go either way. Either he keeps his secret throughout his life, or eventually he comes out of the closet (either on purpose or because someone outs him) and then has to deal with the fallout of that within his marriage and personal life.
