Sims 4 Studio for Macs

So if this topic needs moved to the mods and CC topic, definitely move it there, but I just noticed people are chattier in this forum so thought I'd try here.

So I have S4S downloaded on my mac. My mac is operating on Big Sur 11.0.1. I can open up S4S and get to the main screen and then I can click on a list of my CC but I have no idea how to get to the studio/warehouse screen that I see in so many screen shots and also the app tends to crash frequently. I also can't find a version of the Sims 4 Tray Importer that I can open on my mac either, which I would love to use to get rid of my broken CC I can never find. Any other mac users out there who have actually figured this out? I'd love to make some CC but first I have to find a way to actually get S4S to work.

Also on a side note - I want to organize my CC better since my mods folder is a mess. Can you put items in folders one level deep in your mods folder? I've heard mixed things about that. Thank you!

  • S4S QUESTIONS:

I don't know if the Mac version is set up the same as the PC version, but if I want to go thru my CC

    • I open S4S
    • Click MY CC (it will then take a little bit of time before it opens up with a list of all the folders inside your Mods folder on the left according to how you have it organized
    • Click one of the folders and it will list everything inside of that
    • Click an item and wait a few seconds and it will open that item up into the 3D viewer where you can look at it from all angles (can't remember the controls off hand because I do it automatically without thinking about it)

You can then delete the item, you can remove swatches or rearrange them by dragging them to a different position, you can't add swatches tho, and I'm pretty sure you can re-categorize things if they are appearing wrong, like deco objects showing up under the plants rather than clutter because the creator forgot to re-tag appropriately.

I don't think there is a warehouse tag when you are just looking at your cc and not a package you've created, if I recall, but I could be wrong. I will check when I get off work.

    MODS FOLDER:

I believe you can go 2 or 3 deep, if it's CC type things, but actual mods and script mods need to be in the actual Mods folder. I think you can change the games option.ini to allow more depth to the folders, but it's quite possible I'm thinking of TS2 or TS3 instead.

  • @Chicklet453681 thank you! I’ve been trying to figure out how to delete the footprint of an already made object and I can’t figure it out
  • Is it CC? if it's a game object you won't be able to unless you create an override package

For CC, you can just double click on it, and S4S should open it up and the warehouse tab is on the upper left

  • If you can't double click, then you can right click and choose which program to open it with, but again, I'm on Windows PC, so it could be different on a mac
  • I cannot right click or double click. I think there is something not functioning right with my operating system
  • If it won't work for you, I can D/L it and delete the footprint and then upload it to my Simsfileshare if you'd like
