I saw this too, the Labour of Love Award is meant to be for games that the developers still work on, providing new content and updates.. which Sims 3 doesn't even qualify for. I think it's petty and if TS3 had won that would have been really unfair to developers such as the team behind Dying Light who actively provide new content for their game.
I voted for Stardew Valley for it. Concerned Ape's game is really a true labor of love and so many gamers like myself enjoy it so much. I mean he made the game all by himself. Now he has a small team, but he's a true entrepreneur and brought his game to multiple platforms. Actually one of the few games where the PC and mobile version are spot on from each other.
