Sims 4 University Question - moving a sim from off campus housing to a dorm.

So decided I wanted to add back in the Maxis made sims to my university lots, the two best friends who attend Britechester and the one sim who attends Foxbury. When I place them in a lot, they still have their university courses etc in their work menu. For now, they live in houses because I couldn't figure out how to get them into dorms. So is there a way to move a college student out of a house into a dorm or what? I am not immune to using cheats if necessary. ;) I tried to do it by Moving them but it I get a message that Dorms are only for enrolled college students. I tried to drop them in from another lot (move a sim in from the gallery) but I got the same message. I tried to re-enroll one of them and I got a "Sorry maybe next time" message. I can have them live off campus if necessary but if there is a way to get them on there I would love to know it.
