Sims age question

I found where it shows how many days are left until age up but I'm not sure how many days have passed. Oddly both sims I created as starting sims in my family show two different age days left. I found this odd because TS2 sims had exactly the same days left that were created at the same time and each stage was identical it days. So I'm assuming unless otherwise corrected that there is a variable days per stage determined at the time of creation. If this is the case I don't know how to determine how many days has passed since I started playing this family. Thanks.

  • Hello
The first post in this link thread has a list of the variable age ranges for each age stage,
    https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/943487/age-lengths-have-changed
A patch has fixed the issue with twins not sharing the same birthday. Twins now have the same birthdays.
  • Thanks, that answers the variable starting age. Is there a way to figure out how many days have passed since created? Previously I would have taken the days of life stage minus the days remaining but since the days of life stage is variable I'm not seeing a way to figure this out. I don't even think there is a tool that can look at the data of my sims since google search isn't turning up any relevant results when I attempt to search. After your post I had the idea to check to see if MCCC could show any age data. I discovered it shows X/96 for each of them. As an experiment I created a new family and what I discovered is that upon creation the variable days of life stage is determined by starting each sim at a random number of days into the 96 days. Unless there is some sort of data I can view that indicates what number of days they started with I can't think of a way to determine the number of days that has passed since creation.
  • There is an issue with Sims being started with random days added. This AHQ EA thread refers to the issue

  • @StoneRyno, This won't help you backtrack, but could help you going forward. What I do is record that info in a log that I keep for my game (which has since transformed into a full blown journal where I track daily activities and goals). Since seasons added a calendar, it's very easy to just make a log entry along the lines of:

    • Spring, Year 3, week 1-Monday - John Smith (created and) moved into Daisy Hovel in Willow Creek.

  • I wish I would have paid attention when I first created my sims to know if their age was show with a full 96 days as it stands right now their age is 6 days a part and no idea how many in game days I have played other than could be as many as 15 days. With that said I am thinking is there a way to edit their days remaining?
  • @StoneRyno, no way to edit specific age within a life stage that I'm aware of. Even MCCC only allows you to move them to the start or the end of a stage. What I do when I'm in the position you are is freeze their age with MCCC until they are synced to what I want them to be at, then I unfreeze their aging.

Without using mods that let you freeze aging for just a specific sim, I've no idea how you can fix it short of timing a potion of youth to do it. Like if they age up 7 days earlier than you want, wait until 7 days after they age up, and use the potion of youth to put them back to the start of that new stage.
  • It would appear the best option would be to freeze the age until the days passed match the sims initial days. Where would I go to do that in MCCC? I am going to start over with this family as I made a big blunder on my goals and is no real loss given the little time invested so far.
  • @StoneRyno, click the sim you want to freeze age for, select MC Command Center->Sim Flags->MC Command Center->Flag for no age

Once you do that, the sim you clicked to start the process will no longer age at all. They will literally be frozen at whatever progress in their current life stage they are at. When you are ready to let them start aging again, repeat the process but go to the "clear flags" option instead.
