Sims are obsessed with cleaning

I'm talking about sims who don't have the neat trait also. It probably doesn't sound that bad but it's extremely annoying to me because I pay to have a maid come every day, and I'd rather my sims spend their time doing other things. But literally a second after a puddle forms on the floor or a sink gets dirty like three of my sims automatically get it in their action queue to mop the puddle or clean the sink, even the child sims! I'm thinking seriously, what child is going to choose to go mop up a puddle over playing a game or watching tv?

This seems to be a recent occurence also, so that makes me think it may have to do with the recent patch or something (either that or my game is just really buggy right now lol).
