Sims Boyfriend Maybe Cheating?

So something weird just happened in my game. It was New Years Eve so naturally I had my Sim invite her boyfriend over. They are still at university though and so all the roommates were home watching the countdown. And of course once it hit midnight, I had them kiss. Her boyfriend got very embarrassed and another sim came up and slapped him and was very sad! So am I to assume they had a thing going or the other Sim liked him? My Sim has been dating this other sim for like 2 weeks and they are best friends and at least soulmates according to the measure meter. So just kind of confused. Almost wish I could ask specific questions with Sims, like "what was that about?" or something like that.

    Yes I did at the very first start normally the very first thing I ask. So he probably cheated on my Sim. Not cool, guess he'll be going bye bye.

    In my experience the "ask if single" interaction only works on married Sims. Maybe it also works for boyfriend/girlfriend or engaged relationships, but those can only come into existence by player interference. Which means you'd be playing a rotational game and then you'd already know.
    So any Sim that says they're single can have any number of pre-existing romantic relationships. As long as they're not "official" they'll tell you they're single.

    Heh, I've heard of/seen players (YouTube) who never checked a target Sim's existing relationships and was shocked later to learn that their Sim had been dating someone already married :D

    Basically, your sim's boyfriend was single. Through absolutely no fault of his, the game eventually pulled him as a roommate's significant other because it doesn't check if the picked sim is in any pre-existing relationships. It also doesn't check if the picker is in a relationship with your active sims.

    I have a mod here that should prevent this from occurring in the future. Please leave a "Me Too" on the issue and maybe comment that it also effects active sims' relationships.

    That's what it sounds like. Did you ever have your sim ask him if he was single? They will usually say if they are seeing someone, I just wish tney would say who they are seeing.

    If you hover over the sims in the relationship menu you'll see who they are seeing. If you already asked him if he's single.

    Uh weird ok. Well he wasn't too happy but I had my sim break up with him. Yeah I did have her ask someone else if they were single and they were just like "I'm seeing someone right now" it's like ok?...who? lol but oh well not single so they are a no go anyways.

    People actually do that? I would never just forget to ask that with a person. Just stupid if you ask me. Unless they wanted that drama. lol
