That's how I set mine. My computer is set up to not do things like this in the background while I'm playing a game, and as others have pointed out, every 30 minutes is a bit excessive.

I read about it before I clicked on it. My real concern is that I use Mods. What will happen to those with these 'secret' downloads? I'm uncertain I like just what EA is now doing.

I watched ItsmeTroi on YT yesterday and when you open your game after it updates you are allowed the option to choose how the updates are done, so you can disable auto-updates. So for those of us who use mods, once we do update our games we need to be very careful to read before clicking.

Will it help if you set Origin to offline mode *before* launching the game? Anyway, if there is a lot to download with the recent patch, perhaps just wait a little then try again? Might also help to reboot your system.

Has anyone tested if it possible to play offline with the latest version? Most mods I use seem to work so this is the only thing I need to know before updating.

Anyone know when and where the items are??

I don't think this is the kind of stuff that will affect mods - if they were messing with game code, it would be a patch I think? I get the impression that this will be more like new items, swatches, hairs. For one thing, you can't usually change a file while it's in use. The game would have to be restarted.
