I actually slow mine down using the setting in MCCC. I did make the mistake recently of slowing it down too much (was experimenting with longer lifespan). Right now I’m finding -5 (fifty percent slower I believe) about right.
There are any number of lot traits and in game boosts that will speed up skill gain. Tiny houses can be super powered. Consider some of those too.
I forgot MCCC could do that. I'll have to adjust that setting.
