sims getting sick too often?

Well, I noticed the same issue while playing yesterday. It is becoming too much to be fun.

Glad to know I'm not the only one, hopefully EA fix it in the next patch

Did this happen recently with the latest patch because yesterday I did not notice this while playing for a short time.
Unfortunately this whole sickness thing was not made properly, whats the point of having a sickness when you cant go to the hospital or call a doctor to visit you?

Sickness system should have been something like that:
1- each sickness has unique name and symptoms
2- When a sim gets sick he should go to the hospital or call a doctor to visit him
3- Doctor makes a diagnosis
4- Doctor prescribes the medicine/treatment.
5- Every disease has a different treatment not just one single medicine for everything.
6- Treatment can be different: different medicines/ Herbs mixed/ advise of eating a certain kind of fruit or vegetable/ proper rest etc

It is very unfortunate that the whole sickness system was done in a very shallow way.

I agree with this, however, I have noticed most ailments cured with drinking tea. That doesn't mean it doesn't happen too often but I noticed it with a family I was playing recently. I wouldn't mind the sickness so much if it would actually have real, lasting effects that are sometimes very serious instead of just apply annoying buffs for a short amount of time.

This was happening in my game yesterday or day before. One of my sims in the second generation I was playing kept getting sick. As soon as I'd buy her medicine and she'd take it, later that day, she'd be sick again. This went on for several days with her. Finally it just stopped and no sim has been sick since (I now have a stock pile of medicine that wasn't used).

Like if purchased a medicine to cure the sickness then 1 day later they are sick again ! Sometimes twice in a day -.-
I also find it ridiculous that my doctor sim can't cure his sick wife or son or himself!

You can do the following within the game to make it stop.

1. Stop going to work with the doctor this will end Sims in the family from being sick as often. ETA: Skip days, they will still get a promotion but much slower to gain.

2. If you play rotationally other Sims will get sick in the game if you have played as a doctor recently. This will take time to subside in the game. Maybe another Sim week until other Sims stop getting sick right after playing as a doctor in another family.

4. Make your Sims inside the doctor's family drink tea and juice often. And if you have Spa Day installed try if gaining high wellness points work to keep them from getting sick. You can also purchase the with aspiration points the trait to hardly ever get sick. This would be good to have for everyone in the family including your doctor.

6. If your doctor will wash his hands between patients it is rare he/she will ever get sick. There is a reason to learn it.

7. Dirty houses may or may not play a part in this game but it does in TS2 illness mechanics. But I did notice even when not playing as a doctor in a long time, Sims in my other families got sick more often if the house appliances are dirty and or if they are dirty and if showers were broken and or water off/power off etc. They got sick from being stinky and or being around nasty fixtures and broken objects, so it would seem.

I'm getting constantly sick sims too, and yes one of my households has a doctor.
What annoys me the most is that I buy the medicine and it doesn't seem to work, as soon as the buff quickly runs out - their sick again straight away. I've tried the tea/juice and it doesn't help much either, same issue as the medicine.

I hadn't thought about dirty objects or about the Dr washing his hands - didn't think they'd make this game THAT realistic lol.

Good to know. This is happening in my game right now and I was hoping that it would only last a few days. I figured that maybe like a real life illness, it doesn't go completely away with one dose of medicine. Might buy them a tea brewer, too, and experiment.

ETA: I don't have a doctor in my household or any of the households I've played in this world, so it can happen without a doc around, too.

No doctor for me, either. All my sims in my current save are either painters or authors.

Nooo, me too! I was trying to remember what the other thing was that's off for me lately. Thanks for the reminder.

Even my doctor with the illness resistance trait got sick yesterday. So it's been - my sims are sick constantly, being abducted unusually frequently, and they think good food tastes bad. Who is mad at my sims?
