Sims keeping affect from old traits?

So I have one Sim I always end up playing with. I normally just save him as is and bring him into the new save with all his old built up skills and what not. But at one point I had him as a noncommittal trait. But I have since abandoned that trait. However he still constantly gets the feeling trapped yellow mood. Any way to stop this?

    Do you use MCCC? If so, try adding the noncommittal trait than removing it, exiting your game ... than repair and restart your game. I know when I've had similar issues with traits/ buffs, I've used this method successfully.
    First type testingcheats true into the cheat bar
    Press enter
    Type the manual command -
    traits.remove _trait Trait_noncommittal

    Get More CAS traits for Sims Mod Cat and Dog Update on Mod the Sims site. This mod gives you the option to remove a trait from your sim while playing in main menu.

    I have had no problems with the ghost of a trait left over after removing it with this mod.

    I have used that trick too,

  • I'd love to be able too reuse my partly skilled sims.. but my fear is that I'll see their old traits pop up. I haven't tried this for more than a year now.... so I guess this is still a problem.
    Does anyone have an answer that doesn't use MCCC though? I'm really not needing that mod otherwise and it's just too big to add in for the little use I'd get out of it.
  • traits.remove_trait

    This usually does it without leaving remnants of the trait the way changing it in CAS can.

    @Hermitgirl

    This worked for me. I had a sim that I swapped out noncommittal for romantic, but kept getting noncommittal buffs. I entered this cheat and then I used this one too sims.remove_all_buffs to remove any lingering buffs from the old trait, then saved and exited to the main menu and when I returned my sim no longer had the noncommittal buffs.
