Sims not able to watch tv from laying on sofa

So I bought the new pack yesterday and decided to immediately decorate my sims home with new bb items.
I love lounge sofa's and was excited to give my sims this new cozy couch, but was very disappointed.

My sims were NOT able to watch the tv while laying on the lounge section on the sofa.
The funny thing is: the toddlers can.

How is it possible that when sims are laying in bed they can watch the tv, but from from laying on the sofa?
I honestly dont know if this is a bug, oversight or a decision made by the team.

So I thought I would ask you guys, were your sims able to watch the tv while they're laying on the couch?
If not, do you think it's a bug, oversight or a decision?

I don't know if I should report this as a bug or maybe tag a guru on twitter, but I don't know which one so I hope you guys could help.

EDIT: I did some more testing and found this:

IF you let your sims to lay down FIRST and then click to watch tv they will get up and find another seat.
BUT IF you are first watching tv (and seating somewhere else) and THEN click on the lounge THEY WILL GO TO LAY DOWN AND WATCH IT!! (So I guess it's a bug?)
