Sims Scaling is the Worst

I only wish they'd get input from an architect before deciding how to size objects and tiles. Seriously. Premade trailers are only 4 tiles wide (I don't recall seeing any in Sims 4, but in sims 3 they were 4 tiles wide), but in real life, my trailer is 6 tiles, and it's a single wide. I know this because my bed (which in-game is three tiles long), comes exactly to the mid-point in real-life. At a real-life length of 6'8", that makes each tile just over 2', which again, makes single pane doors unrealistically small since a real-life hallway is three feet. Nothing makes sense, and designing a home based on an actual floorplan is near impossible. Just a nitpicky gripe. I'm sick and in that kind of mood. =(

  • yeah sizing is all wonky with some items but I also think real life just has so much more differently sized objects that are all same basic sizes in sims that you can't get it right even if you tried

like for example you have 2 tile wide couple bed in sims but really it could be anywhere between 120 cm - 2m something wide (not even going to guess biggest bed size in america land its probably something insane)

and obviously that is one rather big difference in real life

but in sims we just be pretending its all the same lmao

i think the same goes for all possible objects there are bigger and smaller versions of them and its just whatever version the person who made object liked the best
  • A tile is about a meter or a yard. But yes, some things can be scaled up or down. The is extreme jumps, but still handy. For exact scaling, I recommend the T.O.O.L mod.

I'm assuming by "trailer" you mean trailer home. I've made one that works quite well in game! I based it on real ones, then made it the 'older-fashion' type. I think it is 5 or 6 tiles wide. If it's 4 or 3, then may as well be a WW2 submarine. :D

Lol ? The largest American bed size is the California King which measures:
    72 inches x 84 inches or
    182.88 cm x 213.36 cm
It’s for people who sleep want to sleep together and yet still be very much alone. ?

LOL! Not only for that reason, though. My late husband was 6'5". It was the only size bed he could truly be comfortable in.
