Sims taking naps in beds, sofas and drinking coffee instead of sleeping

So I know when having autonomy on full is atrocious, but when I'm controlling 3-4 sims or more I prefer to have it on! I also know this game continues to be buggy, the sims cooking tons of food bug is still there and the latest water puddle appearing when sims drink water. Seems nothing was fixed last patch! And now I'm getting these sims sleeping bugs. I'll admit sometimes its funny at first and provides entertainment. But then prolong duration of these bugs gets annoying fast! Btw its the Goth family that I'm playing now.
  • Autonomy needs a lot of work!
I’m mostly annoyed when my sims go to sleep (not nap) when the energy bar is barely in the yellow. Can’t they find something fun to do or take care of a different need? It’s always too early for that. I would understand if they had a tired moodlet but they don’t.
  • I'm playing Sims I created in CAS and my Sims are also napping instead of sleeping. The Adults will grab coffee or tea (oddly enough) instead of sleeping, too. I play a full household, so autonomy is a must. Eight Sims is difficult to wrangle without some 'help'. But this business of avoiding sleep is crazy. Do my Sims now have Insomnia as I do? (Didn't know it was catchy.) :open_mouth: The children will avoid getting into bed as well as Toddlers who are horrid due to lack of sleep. Even if the parent or another Sim puts them to bed, sometimes they will spring right back out again! (Hm, my younger sister used to do that in RL. Parents had to bribe her to stay in bed.) It's crazy-insane. I've taken to doing what I told myself I would never do — I'm cheating up Toddlers' needs. That's the line I drew for myself and I have breached said line! (Do you think I have to go to Confession for this?) :open_mouth:
  • My sims don't have coffee makers. I also use UI Cheats to adjust needs so that they're alert during the day and able to get a full night of sleep.

My sims tend to take naps during the day and sleep during the night, I never place out the coffee maker, they keep using it instead of sleeping or taking naps.

I you don't mind using mods, Scarlet have made a fix for the water puddle drinking bug. https://www.patreon.com/posts/46654035 It was probably caused by Bonehilda because she is supposed to drink water and end up with it on the floor, but now it happens to all sims.

Sims cooking tons of food is annoying, I have that bug too, luckily it doesn't seem to happen 100% of the time, sometimes they grab leftovers or cook a meal and grab it so they can eat it instead of trying to cook another meal.
  • Yesterday this started happening in my household too... i haven't updated my game yet and it didn't happen before yesterday... i'm a bit confused...
  • I clicked autosolve to send my sim to bed and he went to clean his kitchen counter instead! I was like..ok?

I've also had sims cancelling my commands and doing something else instead as well! Not always but it has happened!

The only time I use auto solve on energy is when I can mouse over the que to make sure they're going to sleep instead of nap. My sims are pretty well trained...no naps during day, sleep at night. Once in awhile I'll get a rogue sim but they are few and far between. Oh and I do not have coffee pots in my sims' houses, they get the tea brewer, I love more options.

I have had power struggles with my sims. :D I will que up a command and the sim with ignore this and do something else. I que it up again and this goes on 2 maybe 3 times before they do what I wanted them to do. I need to learn more about free will off, lol. :D
