Sims won't sit down.

Yes, it is a bit of an odd choice, if that is what it is; to not have sims sit down for a longer time. Perhaps they were worried it might make them look unanimated, if not moving around. But they could do other things, while sitting, to give the appearance of lifelike behaviour.

I have seen that more often in restaurants lately. Perhaps there is a bug report at AHQ we could click Me Too on?

I just had a dinner party, of eight sims, mostly, sitting down to eat; only that one or two sims got up from their seat, standing by the table eating and talking, then sitting down again, and another getting up.

I got rid of some of my mods and it helped a wee bit. But not much. I'm definitely going to report this but I doubt they can fix it. The sims love to move around too much. It's nice but when sims are eating they need to SIT DOWN until they're done. It drives me nuts. :s

That's the thing... most sims will sit down but once one sim gets up it's like a chain reaction like your dinner party situation. I notice the sims kind of feed off of each other. It's like they don't know if they want to sit up or sit down.

Yes, they do have a short attention span! I don't have any mods, and I think they stayed seated at restaurants before, perhaps something changed in the latest pack/patch, they seem to often do.

I think it would be better if sims were to stay at the dinner table at home as well, it is a bit too hysterical, like a slapstick show.

Right?! It was better in the past but now they're not sitting down again. I'm glad it's not just me.

My sims never eat at the table at home. I gave up.

I am very glad about the hot pot, which makes them gather together, and if at a table, they sit down and stay seated while eating.

It would be nice if they explained the thinking behind this jumping up-and-down behaviour. I once on this forum saw a SimGuru posting in a thread posted by someone who called a feature "dumb"; perhaps we are too nice and don't attract their attention :tongue:

My Sims drive me nuts sometimes. No matter what they are doing they constantly sit, then stand, sit somewhere else, stand... and random Sims wanting to idle chat make it worse. It's particularly annoying when Sims are on a date.

It wasn't that bad before. I noticed this behavior only after the December patch until I want to buy a pack, but I tend to skip patches, so the problem may be older.

I had a 100% working counter-move for musical chairs: Let the sims take a portion first, then seat them and then command them to eat out the inventory. That way they would sit through the whole meal, but no longer. It's annoying and ruined my fav couple's 1st anniversery (or rather my pictures of it).

And yeah the forums are pretty ruthless sometimes. I feel bad for the gurus and it's not even their fault. That's the worst part. Simmers have been mentioning this stuff for years.

It really is the worst!!! I hate it especially when my sims are on a date too. I have a mod but it hasn't been updated so I don't even think it works anymore. :(

Tea... like if I ask them to have a convo, one person needs to get up. It's so weird.

Does "sit together" not work anymore?
