I like the idea of them having a natural talent for certain things, that would be fun to find. I don’t lump skills together in categories like this because even great musicians have their specialty in say, piano, but don’t necessarily have a talent for guitar. As my sims find themselves with extra time on their hands, I decide what hobby they might enjoy and I try to stick with it. Sometimes it’s influenced by a career reward that gives an aura and I narrow it down from there. For instance, if I have lots of items that I can put it an office that give the focused aura, someone should take advantage of that and do some programming or video gaming. Or if I collect a bunch of extra elements I’ll add them to the garden for a focused boost and add a chess table and woodworking bench nearby, too. I love to find excuses to make rooms or areas dedicated to a certain vibe.
I’ve started putting mini representations of the hobbies up on shelves in their bedrooms (especially kids and teens) to remind me. It helps use up extra cash too when you put a second grand piano in the house just for looks. My sims are always swimming in cash.
I wish more lots on the gallery had more nooks carved out for activities. There’s a lot of great builds but some of the decor is just for show.
