A bit OT, but I just realized today that we can buy any other emotion potion from the rewards store except playful. So that's been missing for quite some time, I guess :,D
Maybe because it could be very deadly if your sim is too happy? ?- kathmhughes4 years agoSeasoned AceI have two conservationists and couldn't find anything they like, sorting recycling, digging through dumpsters, combing sand for garbage, herbalism, scuba diving.
- I'm rather impressed with the scope of this update, and it's probably a good thing they left things out for the moment. Say, you've got a bookworm Sim. I've already had to deal with Sims who are bookworms but also get the Active Lifestyle. So, a moodlet pops up that says that even though they're not doing anything, it sort of feels right. What happens if I give them a 'dislike' for reading? There's a bit of logic that needs to be programmed into the likes and dislikes - say, if you have a bookworm Sim, 'disliking' reading isn't an option?
I wish they'd followed that through with the Lifestyles - my Sims do yoga every day to stay fit and get in the proper mood for their day, and inevitably, they get the Active Lifestyle. They've toned it down, thank goodness, so my Sims don't start every day 'energetic' instead of 'focused' or 'inspired' as I'd intended, but it's still annoying, especially when I have a Sim who enjoys 'boring' activities. (To me, yoga should count toward the 'healthy lifestyle' rather than 'active'.)
It's going to take some tweaking, in any case. And I do agree that some activities were just plain missed. - crinrict4 years agoHero+There's a current bug report for this: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/OPEN-Likes-Dislikes-Missing-Hobbies-and-Skills/td-p/10376480/jump-to/first-unread-message
even if it might be that those were left out on purpose, the more people post in that thread (or at least click me too), the better for reconsideration.
There's also a thread for missing music: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/JTB-Likes-Dislikes-Missing-music-genre/m-p/10376688#M183410
If you have any additions that aren't mentioned yet, please post with those but do consider that some might be summarized under something else (like cooking and gourmet cooking). - bizuktag4 years agoSeasoned Ace

I don't see why this wouldn't be doable for them, since they already have that setup for traits that conflict (Good v Evil, Neat v Slob etc).
I would've expected them to code it that way to start. For example, I can make an Active sim who dislikes Fitness, which makes no sense. - MVWdeZT4 years agoSeasoned AceI think there might have been less annoyance if they'd labeled it "Skills" rather than "Activities", because it's obviously Skills. And it doesn't work that well. I had a goofball Sim dislike Mischief, but she went ahead and pranked the toilet anyway. The main thing is that it seems to raise fun for skills your Sim likes, which is good for things like Handiness. Playing chess and reading already raise fun, which might be why they left them out.

Logic (not an activity, but playing chess, using the observatory and microscope are).
Playing Voidcritters (not a skill, but definitely an activity)
Other activities that aren't skills:
Reading
Watching TV
Taking a Walk
Wow! Reading isn't an option? At least half of my sims will be so upset!
Same. "Sharonia;c-17893703" wrote:

@Sharonia actually, they will be quite neutral about it ;-)- I love the concept and the interactions.
Not really big of the design of it, and the I wish was broken down more, As to what it was My sim Liked to Cook/Bake, Eating certain foods,
Reading/Watching Certain Book/Movie Genres."Mareah;c-17893782" wrote:
I would like spellcasting to be added. I know it is not really a hobby, but if adding it meant my spellcasters could automansly cast spells once i assigned it to them as I like, I would like that very much.
Me too, Although I would like this to be broken down too, Perhaps to the types of spells my Spellcaster has learned, I can choose in CAS or mark in his spell book his favorite spells.
I would like My spellcasters to be more liberal with Magic, But it's more how they behave. I don't want them to be mischievous all the time, but like Practical. I want to be able to trust they won't set the House on Fire, and burn the Library to the ground. Like When I had my Mages Club come over to hang out at the Castle, and one of the Mages Set the Library on Fire.
I suppose you could break it down to the four divisions of magic: Practical, Tamed Untamed, and Alchemy... But i would rather if they broke it down further...
This is why I wanted the Real mod Magic to be more like an RPG pack, So if I chose Fire as my Mage's most liked/"Go to" spell, My Sim would cast fire spells when battling/dueling. Same with Lightning and Ice/Water, I would have had Ice mages and Storm mages.
if I chose Teleportation, as a Liked Spell, I don't want him to "Teleport Always" But perhaps if it's a great distance, or he's trying to access a room that's locked or there's something blocking the way and he physically can't walk to point B, then he uses magic to Teleport.
Also Vampires, They should have a Like/Dislike, for Human Blood/Plasma, or Blood/Plasma Fruit too.
Lowkey Can we like/Dislike other sims with certain traits. - Sharooonia4 years agoSeasoned Ace

I know. I only meant it jokingly. It's actually me that's sad it's not an option. I love having my sims knit.
