Ugh! I's so frustrating to have a historical save and have everything going great then seeing some peasants walking around in crop tops, EVERY ACCESSORY, glasses and knee high socks. This is 14th century France! Let my sims wear the clothes I put them in, game! Why is this even a feature? What purpose does this serve? In a game that's supposed to be about player choice it sure feels like I don't have any.

If you have MCCC I think there is a way to fix this in the Dresser module.

They keep adding situational outfits (there's one more in Get Famous) and I keep having to mod it out and why ?? Does anyone like it ? Is there really someone, somewhere, thinking "man I do love when sims have ugly secret outfits I can't edit, it's all I ever wanted"

I hate them. They're one of the few things in game that bothered me so much that I had to download mods to fix them and I'm not really that into using mods. I dress my sims the way I want them for a reason. I don't want to see them dressed in random ugly outfits the game chooses.

I'm fine with GeekCon having costumes, although not so much when npc's are still wearing them several day after....

Situational outfits are one of my least favorite things about this game. I wish they weren't a thing.

Yes, please. :confounded: I've used MCCC for this and still find some of my sims wearing random outfits.

The townies on this game have the worst clothing choices.

I don't get it. This problem wasn't so prominent in TS2 and TS3.

I've started making over the worst offenders in my game along with giving them names that are more English sounding as well.

City Living is the culprit. before that, our sims would wear their party wear to nightclubs, casual to bars and things like that. Since City Living and the festivals, it's gone haywire.

I don't know why they can't seem to fix it. It's one of the worst things about the game for me.

My best guess is because in order to replicate the issue you have to play the game for a bit, and they only seem to be able to fix bugs that they can replicate easily.

I use NPC Control by Paulson right now, it is a mod that stops random sims from generating overall. http://modthesims.info/d/604590/npc-control-update-08-03-2019.html

I'm praying IL doesn't add any. CL added a bunch, Seasons added one for when it's raining out, GF added one for celebrities. We know they're able to control or filter the items that each situation calls for because butlers, repairmen, bartenders etc all use situation outfits and they work fine on them.

My only guess as to why they haven't done anything about them yet is that they believe the players find this to be a "fun" or "quirky" feature of the game, but yikes.

It's a completely separate issue from townie generation and townie outfits, though.

I think it is a combination of the filters being broken and bad design. It feels so much like an idea that you would draw on a design board, test it out in the game and then scrap it because it works badly in the game.

Some of the ideas that they had was that Sims would walk around at night as vampire posers, Sims would walk around in rain clothing when it is raining, celebrities will wear celebrity clothing in certain areas and so on.

But how they implemented that in the game was a poor gameplay mechanic that just randomized clothes randomly: Let sims at night walk around with clothes from the vampire pack, let sims walk in rain with cold weather clothing, let celebrities walk with random formal clothing.

It breaks my heart that their designers are putting down so much time creating some great clothing only to have some other people butcher their outfits with this bad solution.

Mc command fixes it I believe. It’s like the bug where sims would wear silly outfits to the spa and the festivals, sim Guru Nick told me it would be fixed in a patch which it was but it broke the following patch.

The only situational outfits that even function like they're suppose to is the sims in granite falls appearing in camping clothing and the sims in Salvadorada. No idea how sims want to randomly be a fashion disaster for no reason, especially in GF as well with celebrities. I use a mod to keep sims from using any glases, hats and accessories as well as disabling some situational outfits.
