- paigeisin54 years agoSeasoned AceI know the architect/interior designer careers wouldn't interest me at all. The Sims4 has indeed morphed into a full-blown Barbie Dream House game, totally lacking any kind of new gameplay features. Just more stuff to look at with little substance added for players longing for more to do other than build and decorate. Tiny Living and Nifty Knitting added more than this newest pack in terms of content, and I am still enjoying what those packs brought to the game. But this one? Meh. And the newest one, the Oasis one, is not my style at all. Two misses in a month for EA as far as I'm concerned. EA can throw all the packs it wants at me but if all those packs have to offer is more BB assets, I will happily decline the dubious honor of purchasing either one. And the next EP is yet another Nature-themed pack that no doubt is filled with features that should have been in Outdoor Retreat, Island Living, Seasons, Eco Living, Snowy Escapes, and the numerous base game updates EA has pushed on us over the past two years. There's no way this isn't a marketing ploy meant to squeeze every last dime EA possibly can from the fans before it ends Sims4. Sorry, not sorry, EA, but I refuse to play a misguided and greedy marketing game with your corporation any longer. Of course I will be forced to update or I won't be able to repair my game or access the Gallery until I do. But I won't update until I am ready to update. If those 'helpful' updates didn't nerf the mods I use that make the game more interesting to play at all, or the bug 'fixes' actually fixed anything without causing past fixes to break again, I'd be happier about updating my game. But in all honesty, I can't wait for Sims5 to come out just so I can play Sims4 without the hassle of dealing with broken mods and bug fixes that don't always work. Until that day arrives, my money goes to supporting the modding community and the indie developers working on new life simulation games.

Guess they're adding all the ambitions careers? We got the ghost hunting one a couple months back as well, only one missing now is the stylist career
Stylist is almost the only one we do have. (Style Influencer with a Stylist track)
We actually don't have most of the careers from Ambitions: firefighter, investigator, tattoo artist, sculptor, architect, inventor (ok, maybe Engineer is a close equivalent).
I think detective and scientist are kinda replacements for investigator and inventor even though they aren't exactly the same.
Definitely not. Detective = police. TS3 had both police and investigators... investigators as in private investigator/PI, which is a totally different job. And every iteration of the game, including TS3, had the scientist career, which is definitely not the same as inventor. If anything, if you look at the actual functions, Engineer would be a closer match to Inventor than Scientist is, although it's still not an exact match. - Interior design pack?
The Sims 4 has no gameplay, no consequences, no challenge, no personality or whims or romantic chemistry or random events. It is literally a build/buy simulator with a very strictly set “safe space” world for your little soulless dolls to wander around in (but not too far, because it’s a closed world).
Interior Design pack is literally just... the Sims 4? For an extra $20USD. - Perhaps I might not buy anything at all anymore until there finally is some general gameplay expanding pack. EA has gone too far with yet another YA/A single sim centered pack featuring something "trendy". It's been 7 (!) years. Gameplay (especially for all life stages and families) is still shallow, babies are still objects, no bands, no hotels, and they keep adding BB and CAS features and worse, game changers mainly build and create Sims so this is the kind of content game changers hype and ask for.
I didn't get TS4 in the beginning because it didn't have toddlers. I only bought it when toddlers and Parenthood came along because with these features TS4 was finally playable for me as a legacy/family simmer.
Not much new gameplay for my kind of playstyle was added since. I am sick of it. I don't see this interior design career expanding general gameplay experience. - 83bienchen4 years agoSeasoned Ace@Dakota88, @ChocoSulSul, @texxx78: I won't abandon my existing mods because I know that it is hard to enjoy this game without mods by now.
It's just that I feel really frustrated by the type of content we are getting lately. It's not that I'm not fond of visually pleasing content, but the Sims 4 is still a life simulator game, not just a building simulator or a showcase for stunning looking Sims. As a life simulator, it desperately needs more in-depth and versatile gameplay. At least, that is my humble opinion. "83bienchen;c-17884933" wrote:

I totally agree with you and I see where you're coming from. I decided I won't buy anything at all anymore until we get a pack that adds more in-depth gameplay.- I can understand that builders want more content but if the career is just going into BB and modify a house, it won’t even worth 10$. You can do that with the Base Game…

This would have been a cool SP, but as a GP? I still hope there's more besides BB content. BB is no gameplay and this is supposed to be a GP."83bienchen;c-17884385" wrote:
I'm actually on the verge of giving up on the Sims 4 by now.
Can we just get some gameplay that can be used for our Sims' everyday lives? Is that really too much to ask for?
I can't remember a single person asking for an interior design pack.
oh but I love your mods but I understand I think you should wait to see what update and the ep is first @83bienchen- dianed4854 years agoSeasoned AceShouldn’t it have come with GTW though if it’s career oriented ?
Can’t wait for the trailer!!
