So many brown eyes!

As I love blond hair and blue eyes irl, I decided to start a legacy family full of blue-eyed and blond Sims. First generation was super easy cause I married my sim to Björn Bjergsen (cause I love him so much!). Then their daughter, Olga, married Lucas Münch. They had two really beautiful girls and there the problem starts. As the premades already died I had to find them townies that would match my expectations. I know how genetics work and that brown eyes is a dominant gene but I didn't know it is so hard to find ANY sim with blue (or even gray or green) eyes! I could create my own Sims and move them in but I just want to keep it kind of random. I could also change the eye color of some townies using the cas cheat but if I did so I'd feel like a cheater. I just want the game to flow without my interference when it comes to generated Sims. Is there any way to have more blue (or gray/green) eyed sims just like that, without me doing anything? I'm getting sick with brown color EVERYWHERE.

I don’t think Sims 4 does dominant-recessive..? Also, this isn’t like real life at all. If it were there wouldn’t be any blue eyed people left in this world and that’s not going to happen.

Are you aware that green eyes are more recessive than blue eyes, in RL? I know, I got stuck with them. :'( Both my sister and brother got the blue eyes. There is also a very evil rumor that (natural) red hair is not going to be around in the future, that somehow it's going by the genetic wayside. I have no clue where such garbage comes from, but there you have it.

As for changing out the color of eyes in CAS, you have to be aware that the original color of the Sims' eyes will prevail in their offspring. Same with their hair color.

Yes im aware but I think green eyes are gorgeous too! Well I think it is what just happened in my game, cause my sim was born with blue eyes but I changed her husband's eyes from brown to green and boom, their baby has brown eyes :(

All babies have brown eyes in the Sims, don't worry. If it's a toddler, then :/

Great! Thank you for calming me haha :D I'll see tomorrow what color his eyes are going to be.
  • The only time I've noticed brown eyes seeming to be dominant is with Goth children. I've had two separate gameplays where I've had active sims have children with Goths, and the children almost always inherit those dark brown Goth eyes, however, I happen to love the dark brown eyes, so it doesn't bother me, just something that I think happens too often to be coincidental. In the one game I had a brother and sister who had a child / children with Cassandra and Alexander respectively, and all of the children inherited the dark brown eyes (the girl had three children with Alexander and the boy had one child with Cassandra). Then in my other game I had a blue-eyed sim have an affair with Mortimer, and they have three children, two of which inherited the dark brown eyes, and one who actually got blue. So that's 6/7 Goth offspring who inherited the dark eyes (who all had a parent with a different eye color). That seems more than coincidental, I wouldn't be surprised since the Goths are such an iconic family in the franchise if the devs didn't program in some kind of hidden dominance factor in their genetics, lol.
  • Bwahaha. I know how you feel. I've got one townie with blonde hair and blue eyes. He's arguably the most interesting looking townie I've ever seen. Want him? :D

That was true in TS2 but not in TS4. That's why if a Sim has a child when he's an Elder, the game will randomize his hair colour since children can't inherit grey; the game doesn't remember what colour his hair used to be.

There's also a bug (or it might be by design) in TS4 that gives all Sims a small, random chance of getting brown eyes.

Wish I had green eyes IRL.
