Has anyone tried the no sound option they have advised and if it works? Mine crashed yesterday before it even got onto the main menu screen. It’s also crashed for me in live and bb mode so it’s not just a live mode issue. I don’t know about cas mode as I don’t spend much time in it.
Yes, my game still crashed--though I was able to make it about 15 minutes, as before it was only 1-2.- I don't know if it will help all, and I put this in another thread, but after having a crash while building (I think I went back to live mode and it crashed while I was switching. Super annoying because I had just remade a house with the new stuff) I ran this program I've used in the past called CC Cleaner. It cleans up the registry and your computer overall. I use the free version and prior to the patch was having random crashes to the desktop and once a total Windows crash. After running it they stopped and after doing it after SE I've been good. I do save every few minutes though because I didn't even want to play again after the first crash post SE.
I got a new computer over the summer that is way better than my old one but it def seems to crash more. - WaytoomanyUIDs5 years agoSeasoned Ace

Were you not able to use CTL ALT DEL to open Task Manager to close Sims 4 from there? If you aren't already, switch Sims 4 to run in windowed fullscreen mode in the graphics settings. That way you'll be able to ALT TAB out in all but the worst of crashes that freeze Windows too. Fullscreen programs normally ALT TAB fine, but freezing can make them unresponsive to it, windowed fullscreen usually bypasses that). Also, on some systems and with some games windowed fullscreen is more stable
EDIT: also -nosound definitely helps, instead of 30 minute before crashing it went 2 hours. But I think there are other things involved in the crashes. - Sharooonia5 years agoSeasoned AceMy game seems to only be crashing when my sims are in Mt. Komorebi. I played all last night with my sims at their home lot and it didn't crash once. It's weird how it affects players differently.

So I thought I was the only one, until I log in one day and see a message pop up from EA stating that they are aware of the crashing and are investigating and won't have a fix until the next patch which will be the 20th, ugh and sigh. If I see a post here saying that you've been playing the game without any issue, give me your pc! lol, :P
I played yesterday without any issues, but today My sims went to a Diner Lot to eat and I clicked on a light to "turn on this light" and got the loud electronic beep, after that it was beeping and popping so I shut it down, just as the screen froze. The beep sounds like the old sound effect from Pong on Attari. Not a good sound at all. I had no issue's on any other lot. Something about Dine out set if off. Now I cant get back in. Also as a side note to EA.. I hate the new Your sim is Sad because someone they are close to is Sad. It is a never ending cycle because then Your other Sim gets sad all over again because they made the other sim sad. PLEASE..FOR THE LOVE OF OUR SIMS..REMOVE THIS UPDATE!

Okay, so it’s not just my game. I had the same problem with constant beeps and boops in the background. Sounded like robots. I thought it was my PC, but it was actually the game. I had to log out of my PC in order to get out of the game because it froze. - alanmichael15 years agoSeasoned AceTry to avoid two stereos playing on the same lot. Also lounges with multiple instrumentalists/comedians are dangerous.

Got that one recently, but didn't completely lock me out of my computer as I can still bring up Taskbar by pressing Windows key or Ctrl Alt Del"Jasonschick80;c-17724791" wrote:
After waiting until this weekend to download the patch and spending about 2 hours updating all my mods I go into a completely new save only to find I cant enter build mode. Ha!! Oh well, I guess tomorrow I'll be taking out all my mods and seeing if it works vanilla.
Pretty ridiculous however when you need a patch to fix a patch.
At least I have Eivor and raiding to keep me busy while we wait for them to clear this mess up.
I'd rather they take their time and get the patch done right, making sure it doesn't cause additional problems, than rush something out that creates more problems than it fixes. For all we know, it might not be the Snowy Escape content that's causing the issue but perhaps something in one of the bug fixes is conflicting with something else in the code.

Mine has only crashed when I’ve played outside of Mt. K. Yes, it is weird how it affects players differently! - avalencikir1 year agoNewcomer
Yea my sims have been having so many issues for example the mom won't feed her baby, seems confused by the task and won't sleep for the full time even though she like really needs to, same with the infant. I also noticed it seems like most tasks including cooking are confusing for the sim and the cant fully perform the tasks. I also have had the game quit on me several times, and for the first time ever it did this when I was creating a sim.. so I hope they fix this bc I need to play my sims :(
