I guess they (the devs) see it as a trade off, like you got 3000 simoleons but lost all followers... Maybe it's just laziness.
Like the ask if mermaid social that came with Island Living, I always get the same answer and a negative relationship hit. Never use it ever now.
Or if your sim is a vegetarian and evangelise it to another sim, they say they will give it a try and then usually ends up eating a steak anyway. Nothing of substance and nothing matter.
Btw, since you play with the social media career, have you noticed a discrepancy with the way the display followers? In some messages they write out say 100,00 and sometimes 100? So strange.
