Some ideas (seeking input) for my game

Tossing up trying to make MY Sim. One (or two in this case) that I can get attached to and stop restarting.

Anyway; latest is shaping up to be twins living on a farm. One is in Social Media (because of CAS story) the other to be decided. Because Sims start with no relationships (except what you make in CAS for them) I have been attempting to come up with a reason for a fresh start. Thinking that they have inherited a farm from a Great Uncle. Maybe they used to visit as little girls, but haven’t in a while. The will indicates that they must live together and the farm cannot be sold for a specified period or some such. Maybe there is an Uncle (now a city dweller) who didn’t get along with his father and the farming/outdoorsy life but wants to sell the farm for inheritance money. So the twins have to stop him.

They can have a parent (or parents) living in a different world (perhaps StrangerVille) and that will allow for play with genetics to make the living Uncle.

Input into the backstory welcome. But also

-Brindelton Bay or Henford on Bagley?
-Cow or Llama?
-Money cheat or try with starter funds? Can one even build a farm with 20k?
-Make the second twin a gardener or something different?
-Go “realistic” (no spell casters, Father Winter, etc) or just go with the full game?
-Fitting in things like High School and perhaps Acting (which I’m keen to do). Also Scientist is a favourite (but much done and doesn’t fit well with farming IMO)
  • Scientist can fit with farming if you want, as there are some plant requirements in that career. You could just have a small farm (I'd go with the cow for the milk rather than llama) and the Scientist could look after a few crops while the other Twin takes care of the animals needs. You'd only need 1 or 2 chickens to get enough eggs for the 2 of them if you are thinking of living off the land.

I think there are a couple of starter farms already in Henford, maybe use one of those? You could swap out any double bed there for 2 singles or a bunk lol.
  • I think a farm fits more naturally into Henford on Bagley. Was there a specific lot in Brindleton Bay that you were thinking about?

With regards to cow or llama, I think it depends on a few other things. I like cows and chickens for simple living, into cooking sims. I like llamas for crafty, creative sims. Will your sims fit into any of those categories?

I would try cheating them into a dilapidated farm with very little or no funds. They've inherited a farm that they need to fix up, but haven't been given the funds to do so. How will they make that money?

I find that earning money in the game is too easy, so when I have more than one adult sim in a household, I try not to have more than one with a typical job. It means I have someone to do odd jobs (in my current household, this means caring for the twin toddlers and triplet babies...) around the house and someone bringing home a bit of money without getting more money than they can actually spend.

I tend to start households as "realistic" until I get to know my the sims. Sometimes I'm not expecting them to give off occult vibes, but then they do and I go with it. I think this could apply to high school, acting, and being a scientist as well. Once you get a feel for your sims through gameplay, if those things fit the story, go with them. If they don't, follow the path that does!

    Have fun!

These are VERY helpful, thank you.

I could come around to the idea of a scientist who has to commute to the lab now, and had an interest in botany specifically. Two singles because the farm only has one master (and maybe a tiny not-really) bedroom could just work to convert one of the exisiting farms…

I didn’t have a specific lot in mind on either world. Though I was thinking Brindleton more fit more neutrally with others like Copperdale…. Potentially some creativity and simple living, will consider it some more. Maybe one twin is one and the other…

So far Lauren (the original with a CAS story) is Gregarious, Geek, Romantic, and Loves the Outdoors. I think the Social Media career will stick

Brooke is a clone (dropped from the Gallery) of Lauren, without glasses and shorter hairdo. The twins have equivalent outfits, but colours are changed, footwear might be swapped etc. Lauren is a Quick Learner, Hot headed, Genius and I can't remember the last trait right now :s

Marilyn (I think that's how the randomizer spelt it) has home turf, Neat, Family oriented and High Maintenance. Haven't decided her career or actual home turf yet.

    Marilyn's brother still to come.
